The Debt Council has been formed only recently in response to the number of debt advice companies emerging in the UK, some of which offer only so called debt management or debt consolidation schemes, which is not our preferred method.

This is in an attempt to ensure that those vulnerable people finding themselves in debt can see exactly where to turn in order to get themselves out of it in the best possible and ethical way.

Rather than debt management and debt consolidation (both of these often increasing the actual level of debt, whilst spreading payments over longer periods), we prefer the route of debt reduction by negotiation with your creditors.
